21st May 2010 - West Coast Living
One of the first Modrooms to come of the production line has been selected for inclusion in the August edition of West Coast Living magazine. The photo shoot for this was completed this week, and will be featured in both the magazine and our upcoming catalogue.
29th April 2010 - First Modroom 'Home Gym' completed
Work on our first 'Home Gym' has now been finished. To suit customer requirements, this unit was built on a poured concrete slab, before being installed in record time using our modern, modular building system.
20th April 2010 - It didn't take long...
Our first expressions of interest have been recieved regarding using our unique building system to build a Holiday Home in Denmark, WA. Our team will be working with this client over the next few months to demonstrate the benefits of our unique approach to their project. Stay tuned...
11th January 2010 - Plans finalised and lodged
The plans for our initial Modrooms have been completed, and they are now in with the relevant shires for Approval.
1st December 2009 - Initial orders underway
We are pleased to announce that the registered building supervisors for our initial Modroom orders have been appointed. Steven Smart, our group Managing Director, explained that this selection process was made carefully. "We have ambitious growth plans for the next three years, but we will not become 'just another builder'" "In line with our business vision of bring modern, modular building methods to the Western Australian industry, we needed to identify unique people that have the skills and expertise to not be bogged down with conventional double-brick building. There is a better way."
12th November 2009 - New Website
Our new website www.modrooms.com.au was released today, after being unveiled to our staff by sister business Smart CMS.
This site features minimalist menu-driven design, flash photo galleries, and extensive details on our product range.

23rd October 2009 - New Modroom Released
Our flagship Modroom unit was released to the WA market on October 23rd at the HIA Spring Home Show at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Both exhibitors and the public were clearly impressed by our innovation, and our stand was awarded "Best New Exhibitor" in recognition of our efforts. Indeed many exhibitors couldn't believe how much effort we had gone to for just a 3-day show.

answering customer questions on the day.
Little did they know that our modern, modular system meant that our display only took a few hours to put together.
12th October 2009 - Logo & Branding for Modrooms Released
Managing Director Steven Smart announced today that the branding of our new modular buildings business 'Modrooms' has been selected. "Our market research suggested that our customers are looking more for lifestyle products than they were in the early 1990s when we started, so we wanted to make this a key aspect of our offering" explained Mr Smart. "And our long term advantage over our competition has been a dedication to pre-fabricated items that have allowed us to complete our installations rapidly. I'm confident that our new 'Instant Lifestyle' branding captures the spirit of what we do." he continued.
The final logo design for Modrooms was also released today, selected from 7 candidates. Here it is for the first time:
1st October 2009 - Business Name Selected
After exhaustive market research, our parent business Smart Timber Building Systems decided on the name 'Modrooms' for its new modular building business-unit.
Explains Managing Director Steven Smart, "After deciding to commence production of upmarket studios and outdoor room structures earlier in the year, we wanted to select a name that reflected our vision for the business. The words modern and modular were a common thread in these discussions, and the name just grew out of that."
Further to our final selection of the name Modrooms we have commissioned our sister business Smart CMS to register a domain name and produce a website for release in early November.
5th September 2009 - Prototype underway
This week we have commanced manufacture of our prototype outdoor studio. The Smart Timber design team started work on the unit just after easter, and nailed down the final major technical details during August. With the CAD drawings now complete, we've finally been able to get started.
